Transforming a Traditional Structure into a Luxury Retreat
This project involved the transformation of a traditional stone barn into a luxurious, high-end holiday retreat.
The goal was to retain the building’s original character while introducing modern design, structural integrity, and premium finishes, creating a space that feels both authentic and contemporary.
The Challenge
Converting a traditional barn presents unique structural and design challenges:

Our Approach
We delivered a full conversion, combining structural upgrades with high-end finishes.
1. Structural Transformation
To support the new layout and ensure long-term stability, we installed a new internal steel framework, allowing for larger open spaces and improved structural integrity.
2. Reimagined Layout
The internal layout was completely reconfigured to create:
- Spacious, open-plan living areas
- Improved flow between rooms
- A layout suited to both relaxation and entertaining
3. Premium Openings & Natural Light
We installed high-performance aluminium windows and doors, including large glazed sections that:
- Maximise natural light
- Create a strong connection between indoor and outdoor spaces
- Enhance the overall sense of space
4. Additional Functional Spaces
An adjoining barn was renovated and repurposed into a bespoke games room, adding a unique feature that enhances the property’s appeal as a holiday retreat.
The Result
The completed project delivers a standout property that:
